Kendall Emory Maddox passed away on Monday, the 13th of November 2017. Kendall was born in Houston on the 11th of November 1993, to Scott Emory Maddox and Lorrie Ficklin Maddox. He was preceded in death by his grandparen­ts, Edward and Donna Maddox of Houston. Kendall is survived by his parents, Scott and Lorrie, his loving sister, Emily Ann Maddox, his grandparen­ts, Chuck and Doris Ficklin, his great aunt, Joanne Maddox of Laredo, his aunts and uncles, Larry and Donna Maddox, Jack and Laurie Maddox, Joe and Blee Ficklin, Dave and Luanne Bouvier, and Winston and Linda Battarbee, and his many loving and dear cousins.

Kendall attended Grace School in Houston, starting in Mother’s Day out at 18 months and continuing with his educationa­l experience at Grace through his graduation from Middle School. Kendall went on to attend Saint Thomas High School and graduated from Houston Christian High School in 2011. He studied business at at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where he was an active and enthusiast­ic Southern Gentleman of the Kappa Alpha Order. Kendall transferre­d to the University of Houston to finish his college studies in the constructi­on management program, where he excelled and was inducted into the program’s internatio­nal honor society.

Kendall was charming, enthusiast­ic, sociable, artistic, and creative. His quick wit and terrific sense of humor served him well. He was a good, trusted, and trusting friend.

Kendall loved nature and everything about the great outdoors. He always enjoyed the annual Destin beach trip with three generation­s of his extended family. He looked forward to his extended time each summer with his special friends at Camp Longhorn in the Texas Hill Country. He loved the water and enjoyed boating and water sports of all kinds at the lake with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter. He loved spending time communing with nature. He was a skilled guitarist and had a deep appreciati­on and love for music. Kendall was a dear, sweet, loving, gentle young man, and he will be dearly missed.

Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembranc­es of Kendall during a reception to be held from four o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening on Sunday, the 19th of November, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

The memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 20th of November, in the sanctuary of Grace Presbyteri­an Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane in Houston, where Rev. Mike Fry is to officiate. Immediatel­y following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Library of the church.
