T roy Gallagher loves his wife. He also loves the Astros.

His two loves came together recently when he put together an elaborate holiday light display celebrating the Astros’ World Series win at the couple’s home on Madison Avenue in League City.

For months, Gallagher hunched over his keyboard to program lights, music and World Series footage to create the perfect Christmas project for his wife, Michelle. It’s not a traditional project that would sit neatly under the tree with a bow on it. Instead, it lights up the entire house, tucked away in the Victory Lakes neighborhood of League City.

The two-story house has thousands of lights that display actual footage from the Astros’ World Series run, interviews and quotes from players, including Jose Altuve’s legendary comment, “I literally love

Justin Verlander” to close the show played to Imagine Dragons “Thunder.”

The couple’s daughter, Tara, even dresses in a light suit and performs

her own choreographed dance as part of the light show.

“I think Christmas is a wonderful time,” Michelle Gallagher told Chron.com. “He created this display for me, and I think it’s really sweet of him to spend so much time to just do that.”

The planning for the display starts every year in May, and Troy Gallagher puts it together himself. He doesn’t have a technical or IT background, which just impresses Michelle more.

“I want to give all the props to my husband. He did such an awesome job — to take the time and effort for something this grand, it’s just so touching,” she said.

She said he’s able to carry on through “every headache and frustration when things don’t work right.”

The light show starts around 6 p.m. nightly and continues until around 10 p.m. Michelle also said that her family plans to dress up for the weekend before Christmas — she as an elf, her mom as a Santa Claus and her daughter as Rudolph.
