MARTHA ANN ( NOAK) LEONHARDT

Martha was born to Waldemar Noak, Sr. and Etta Oetken Noak on August 26, 1940 in Round Top, Texas. Martha died on December 3, 2017. Martha was baptized December 25, 1940 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, Texas by Pastor Kralik and was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top by Pastor A. B. Weiss on April 3, 1955. Martha was a charter member of Advent Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school for 42 years, was a member of WELCA for many years and participat­ed in many other functions in her church.

Martha grew up on a farm near Round Top, Texas and graduated from Round Top-Carmine Rural High School. Martha was a devoted wife to her husband Bob, a loving mother to her two sons, a devoted and loving grandmothe­r to her 6 grandsons and a loving great-grandmothe­r to her 2 great-granddaugh­ters. She loved her family dearly and was instrument­al in taking care of her sons and grandsons during their developing years prior to and after they began school.

Martha was married to Bob on September 6, 1958 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Round Top, Texas by Pastor Otto Fehler. They made their home in Houston, Texas. Bob and Martha were blessed with two sons, Robert Jacob, Jr. and Rodney Dean Leonhardt Sr.; 6 grandsons, Robert Jacob III, Rodney Jr., Zakary, John, Jeremy, and Joshua and two greatgrand­daughters, Rebecca and Audrey. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Ira Mae Hinze & Dorothy Mae Spies; her brother and sister-in-law, Merton and Vernell Noak; her brother, Waldemar Noak, Jr.; her brothers-in-law Eldor Hinze and Ledell Spies; and three nephews, as well as her father-in-law & motherin-law, Henry E Leonhardt and Edna Hodde Leonhardt; and sister-in-law, Katherine Jacobs.

Martha is survived by her husband of 59 years, two sons and daughters-in law: Robert Jacob “Bobby” Leonhardt, Jr. and wife Margaret “Peggy”; and Rodney Dean Leonhardt, Sr. and wife Marcy. She is also survived by 6 grandsons: Robert Jacob “Jake” Leonhardt III, and wife, Krystil; Rodney Dean Leonhardt, Jr. and wife, Amanda; Zakary Daniel Leonhardt and wife, Breanna; John Evan Leonhardt and wife, Alexis; Jeremy Leonhardt and wife, Liza; and Joshua Kyle Leonhardt, as well as, 2 great-granddaugh­ters, Rebecca Rose and Audrey Grace Leonhardt. Martha is also survived by two sisters, Vernell Mertz and husband, Elo; and Henrietta Leonhardt and husband, Alwood; her aunt Bernice Oetken; her sisters-in law, Ida Bell Finke and husband, John; and Freida Mae Dallmeyer and husband Melvin; and brother-in-law Alton Jacobs, as well as, 51 nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Pallbearer­s are grandsons: Robert Jacob “Jake” Leonhardt III, Rodney Dean Leonhardt, Jr.; Zakary Daniel Leonhardt, John Evan Leonhardt, Jeremy David Leonhardt and Joshua Kyle Leonhardt.

The family thanks Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilita­tion-West Houston and Vantage Hospice for their loving care.

Visitation will be conducted at the Brookside Cypress Creek Funeral Home at 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas 77095 from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6th. Funeral services will be conducted from Advent Lutheran Church at 5820 Pinemont Drive in Houston, TX, on Thursday, December 7th at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Larry Beck officiatin­g. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Richter’s Cemetery on FM 1457 in Round Top, Texas.
