Edward Casas Hernandez, 82, was born on September 20, 1935, and he passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 3, 2017, in Sugar Land, TX. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Sulema Gomez Hernandez, and his children, Corine Hernandez Vela (Lee), Debra Ponce de Leon,and Lawrence (Nicole), sister, Theresa Freeland, six grandchild­ren, Brent Vela, Conor and Nicholas Hernandez, Alex (Iva), Aenea and Atlanta Ponce de Leon and one great granddaugh­ter, Isabel Ponce de Leon. Edward was predecease­d by his parents, Raymond B. Hernandez and Theresa Casas Hernandez, and sister, Gloria Ann Hernandez.

Edward was born in San Antonio, TX, and his family moved to Houston when he was eight years old. He graduated from Reagan High School where he excelled in the Oratory Debate Team. He spoke eloquently and made himself readily available to anyone seeking advice from him. Edward obtained a degree in Drafting from the University of Houston, and he forged a life-long career in Drafting that he exercised with passion and profession­alism. He was also an avid ballroom dancer, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Arrangemen­ts are being entrusted to South Park Funeral Home in Pearland Texas. Visitation will be at Clayton Funeral Home 5530 West Broadway Pearland Texas on Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 5:00PM-9:00P.M., with a 7:00P.M. Rosary. The funeral service will be on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10AM., also at Clayton Funeral Home. Burial to follow.
