1945-2017

A. B. “Barry” Wallace, Jr., better known as Pappy, lost his battle with COPD on December 3, 2017, surrounded by his family and friends. A native Houstonian, Barry was born December 20, 1945.

Barry is pre-deceased by his parents, Albert Barrett Wallace, Sr and Bessie Adelaide Bauer Wallace. His brothers, William Timmons Urquhart, Sr. and Edward Henry Urquhart, Sr. Nephews, William “Bill” Timmons Urquhart, Jr., and Edward Henry “Hank” Urquhart, Jr., Cousin, Bettie Harbodt, and dog, Daisy.

Barry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Smith Wallace, four daughters, five grandchild­ren, one great granddaugh­ter and dog, Sparky. Daughters, Carroll & John Brown, Stacy & Steve Sapio, Robin Wallace, Shelley & Justin Zaiser. Grandchild­ren, Jessica & Jason Murphy, Steven & Kellie Sapio, Schuyler Zaiser & Amber, Hayden Zaiser, and Carmen Corigliano. Great Granddaugh­ter, RaeLynn Kaye Sapio. Sister-in-Law, Dorothy Urquhart. Cousins, Betty Williams, Terry Roper, Jerry Shirar, Stella Shirar Worden, Tim Bauer & Bob Bauer. Niece, Tiffany, Michael, and Lauren Poupore. Nephew, Glen & Lillian Urquhart; as well as many loving friends and family.

Barry attended Poe Elementary, Lanier Jr. High and then Lamar High School followed by college at University of Houston. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Barry started working for Samuel P. Worden in the Geophysics industry, leading to his career in the Electrical Wholesale Industry with Westinghou­se and numerous other distributo­rs, most recently Arling D. Smith Co. He retired in 2001 to spend time with his wife, Nancy, daughters and grandchild­ren. In 2015, he welcomed his first Great-Granddaugh­ter, Raelynn. He loved teaching her 1.2.3.

In his younger years, Barry spent summers at the Triple V Ranch in Wimberley, TX, working with horses and building fences, where he found a love for horses and later became active in the Palomino Committee and Lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

Visitation and Services will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home-The Woodlands at 18000 I-45 North South, The Woodlands, TX 77384. The family will welcome visitors on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The Service will be on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:00 am.
