Tax Slayer
Who: Louisville (8-4) vs. Mississippi State (8-4). When/where: 11 a.m.; EverBank Field, Jacksonville, Fla. TV: ESPN. Notable: The Cardinals are trying to end the season with a four-game winning streak and potentially send 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson to the NFL on a high note. The junior quarterback hasn’t said publicly whether he will forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft. The Bulldogs’ senior class is going for its 34th victory, which would tie the school record set in 1942 and matched in 2015. The team also want to send interim coach Greg Knox out with a win.
Liberty
Who: Iowa State (7-5) vs. Memphis (10-2). When/where: 11:30 a.m.; Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, Memphis, Tenn. TV/radio: ESPN; 97.5 FM. Notable: An eighth victory would give the Cyclones their highest single-season win total since a 9-3 finish in 2000. Iowa State is seeking its first bowl victory since a 14-13 Insight Bowl triumph over Minnesota on Dec. 31, 2009. The Tigers are seeking their first 11-win season in school history. They went 10-0 in 1938 and 10-3 in 2014.
Fiesta
Who: Washington (10-2) vs. Penn State (10-2). When/where: 3 p.m.; University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Ariz. TV/radio: ESPN; 94.1 FM. Notable: Two teams that were early-season contenders for a national title look to close out an 11th win on the season and earn a major bowl title. The game’s key matchup pits Nittany Lions running back Saquon Barkley against the Huskies’ stellar defense. Once a top contender for the Heisman Trophy, Barkley rushed for 1,134 yards and 16 touchdowns, but he will be facing a defense that was No. 1 in the Football Bowl Subdivision against the run, allowing 92.3 yards per game.
Orange
Who: Miami (10-2) vs. Wisconsin (12-1). When/where: 7 p.m.; Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Fla. TV/radio: ESPN; 97.5 FM. Notable: The Hurricanes are looking for their first 11-win season since 2003 and a second consecutive bowl victory. The Badgers are bidding for the first 13-victory season in school history and possibly their best year-end finish in the Associated Press Top 25 since ending up fourth in 1999.
