Jerry D. Dumas, Sr., went home with the Lord on December 29, 2017, in Harrisonbu­rg, Virginia while en route home from Christmas Holidays in Vermont. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lagow Dumas, 3 children: Melanie Dumas, Melissa Shannon, J. Donald Dumas, Jr. and his wife, Aishling Dumas, and 2 step-children: Daniel Crawford and Catherine Clements; 11 grandchild­ren: Mason Hogue, Carly Hogue, Mackenzie Shannon, Jacob Shannon, Alexandra Dumas, Joseph Dumas, Julia Dumas, Hudson Crawford, Claire Crawford, Hannah Mae Clements, William Shaw Clements.

Brother, Charles Joe Dumas and wife Gaynell Dumas; sister Patricia Cal Burrhus and husband, Larry Burrhus.

Jerry was born in Kilgore, Texas, May 12, 1935, to Alvis and Jewell Dumas. He graduated from Jennings High School in 1953. Jerry received a scholarshi­p to the LSU Tigers 1953 Freshman Football Team but was soon moved to the Varsity Team playing as an End. His commitment to LSU continued through the years to his service as a member of the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

Jerry began a profession­al career in the Oil Field Services Industry in 1957 that continued until his retirement in 2010 as CEO from Flotek Industries, Inc.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd, Baton Rouge LA 70802. Visitation will be 11:00am12:30pm in the Parlor with the Memorial Service at 12:30pm in the Sanctuary.
