Jazz rally in fourth quarter to edge Spurs, win 10th straight

SALT LAKE CITY — Donovan Mitchell scored 25 points, including a go-ahead pull-up jumper with 39.2 seconds left, and the Utah Jazz extended their league-best winning streak to 10 games with a 101-99 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

Mitchell hit a pair of go-ahead baskets and a free throw to give the Jazz the lead in the final minute after they trailed by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter. Joe Ingles added 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Utah. Derrick Favors had 19 points and eight rebounds.

The Jazz (29-28) moved above .500 for the first time in more than two months.

Kyle Anderson scored 16 points for the Spurs, who lost to Utah for the third time this season.

PELICANS 118, PISTONS 103

Anthony Davis had 38 points and 10 rebounds to help New Orleans win at Detroit in another one of his strong performanc­es against the Pistons.

Davis is averaging 30.4 points per game against the Pistons, his highest total against an NBA team. He scored a careerhigh 59 against them nearly two years ago.

That’s one reason the Pelicans have won 11 of the last 12 games against the Pistons.

Blake Griffin scored 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting to lead the Pistons.

Dario Saric scored 24 points to pace all five starters in double figures, and host Philadelph­ia beat slumping New York for its fourth in a row.

Reserve T.J. McConnell had a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Michael Beasley scored 22 points to lead the Knicks, who lost their seventh straight.

Stephen Curry scored 22 points, Omri Caspi added 19 and 10 rebounds, and Golden State routed visiting Phoenix for its third straight victory.

Lou Williams scored 20 points, DeAndre Jordan had 16 points and 17 rebounds, and they got plenty of help from a balanced Los Angeles lineup in a victory at Brooklyn.

Zach LaVine broke for a tiebreakin­g dunk after stealing an inbounds pass in the closing seconds, Lauri Markkanen scored 21 points, and Chicago beat visiting Orlando.

The Philadelph­ia 76ers signed veteran 3-point specialist Marco Belinelli, whose contract was bought out by the Atlanta Hawks. Belinelli was averaging 11.4 points in 23.3 minutes per game with the Hawks, who bought him out to allow him to join a contending team. … ESPN reported that Derrick Rose, the 2011 NBA MVP, cleared waivers and is now a free agent. Rose was waived Saturday by the Utah Jazz after being acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team deal that also involved the Sacramento Kings.
