Get ready to sing, dance, enjoy music fests

Each year, a number of music festivals play host to thousands of attendees, all of whom gather to sing and dance, eat and drink, and have a great time. Formerly Free Press Music Fest, In Bloom Music

Festival boasts one of the biggest, most diverse musical lineups in Houston. This year’s festival features more than 50 performanc­es by legendary artists like Beck, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, Marin Garrix, Grizzly Bear and T-Pain.

Guests of the Houston Zydeco Fest will get to experience everything that is loved about the Cajun culture, including crawfish and other specialty Cajun dishes.

“We even have special drinks, like the Gator Bite, to help festival-goers get into the spirit of the event. It’s a down-home experience that can only be curated with love and fun,” said Amanda Sapp, Houston Zydeco Fest assistant coordinato­r. “The day will be filled with delicious food from over 20 food vendors, live music from some of the best Zydeco bands in the nation and fun activities for all including face painting and line dancing.”

The festival headliners this year are Lil Nate & The Zydeco Big Tymers, Brian Jack & the Zydeco Gamblers and Ruben Moreno & Zydeco Re-Evolution. Mark your calendar for April 7 at 9401 Knight Road. Admission is $15. For more informatio­n, visit houstonzyd­ecofest. com.

The Brazilian Food & Music Festival is an opportunit­y for the whole family to discover and engage with upbeat Brazilian music and culture. The events also will feature vendors offering authentic Brazilian cuisine and beverages, crafts and clothing. The Brazilian Food & Music Festival is offering half-off admission with online ticket purchases through April 6.

Third Coast Music Festival boasts 40 bands and 50 shows held on one island — historic Galveston Island. This new festival features bands from a diverse range of genres playing various venues across the city, allowing guests to hear some of the best live music while interactin­g with historic venues and locations in Galveston.

After a successful first year, the second annual is celebratin­g its second year with more music, craft beer and fun. Guests will get to enjoy live music, as well as sample beers from more than 30 local and national craft breweries.
