DOLORES MARIE MUYSKENS
1933-2018
Dolores Marie Muyskens, whom everyone called Dee, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 3, 2018 in her home in Houston, TX. She was 84.
Dee was born in Port Jervis, NY on April 8, 1933, to Louis and Catherine DiPipi. She remained in Port Jervis until leaving to attend Elmira College. Her life would change forever after a blind date with her soon-to-be husband, Donald Muyskens. Their union would take them on an incredible journey and through a lifetime of adventures; they lived in Holland, Bahrain, the Philippines, Japan, and several cities in the United States; and travelled extensively abroad. Dee was fortunate to have set foot on all six inhabited continents. Her dedication to family was demonstrated by her ability to create a home in each and every new place the family was assigned. With her tenacious support and dedication, her husband was able to attain great professional and personal achievements.
Dee was well known for many things: her outgoing nature, generosity, political ideals, wit, vitality, love of reading, shopping and conversation, and very busy social calendar. She was a patron of the theater and performing arts, and was involved in many charities and social clubs. She was a beloved member of every organization she joined and every community she lived in. She leaves behind an incredibly tight network of close friends in Houston and throughout the world.
Her husband, parents, and sister, Valerie DiPipi, preceded her in death.
Dee is survived by her brother, Marc DiPipi and wife Marlin, son, Alan Muyskens and wife Linda, daughter, Sarah Muyskens, and granddaughter, Chelsea Simko and husband Peter. Nieces and nephews, and their children also survive her. Dee is survived by her beloved dog, Rusty, who became the light of her life.
She had experienced many medical complications during the last few months of her life; although difficult, she was supported by the tireless efforts of her family, friends, and the many medical professionals who treated and cared for her.
