Police on Friday released a sketch of a woman whose head was found in a black plastic bag near Lake Houston last month.

The sketch, completed by artist Lois Gibson, fits the previously described features of the woman, which included teeth in good condition and hair that had been dyed red.

Volunteers found the badly decomposed head near 10600 FM 1960, on the east end waterfront among the erosion-controlling rocks and boulders surrounding it, said Michael Perez, a homicide investigator with the Houston Police Department, which patrols the lake.

About two weeks prior, a man in his early to mid-20s was seen about 2:30 to 3 p.m. getting out of the front passenger side of a truck to throw a black plastic bag off the bridge, officials said Friday. Police are looking for that person of interest, whom they described as having short dark brown hair with long bangs across his face. He is about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-8 tall and has light skin. He was seen wearing a gray and black plaid shirt.

The truck is a teal or a bluish green Chevrolet Silverado extended cab.

Perez said the truck was rusted and looked “pretty beat up,” as if it had been in several wrecks. The back left passenger window was “busted out” and was covered by what looked like cardboard, according to investigators.

Investigators released a photo of a truck similar in body, style and color to the one the person of interest was seen exiting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Houston Police Department’s homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
