Norma Casas Pabon, born July 18, 1932 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, died on April 11, 2018 after battling cancer for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Pabon, and is survived by her daughters, Angela Maria Pabon and husband Daniel A. Breisacher, Clarissa and husband Levent Iyican, Pilar and husband Walter Schneider, Norma and husband Christophe­r Dempsey, and Margarette Pabon; grandchild­ren Corey Iyican and wife Bilge, Kristen and husband Matt Pasyk, Cristina Tortarolo, Susan Iyican and husband David Kimber, Nathan Dempsey, Andrew Schneider, Juan Ernesto Mendoza, Laura Mendoza and Annmarie Dempsey; great grandchild­ren; Darryl Dempsey and Leyla Iyican.

She graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas, studied dancing at Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and performed and taught Flamenco and Mexican folkloric dances in Houston. She met the love of her life, Ernesto, at Texas A&M, married, and moved to Colombia, South America. After 28 years, they moved back to Houston. Norma was very active in her church, The Rosary will be prayed from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Magnum Rd, Houston, Texas. A Mass of the Resurrecti­on will be held at St. Ambrose Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 14, 2018. A reception will be held at St. Ambrose auditorium after the mass.
