I’ve been working at Little Dipper about five years.
Nickname?
I only wish I had one. The pseudonym I use when I DJ at the bar is Hank.
Lamest pickup line you’ve heard at the bar?
It wasn’t really a pickup line, but these two bankers just kept sitting near girls and talking about all the money they’ve been making on investments.
Most famous person you’ve ever served a drink to?
Eugene Mirman — he does the voice of Gene from “Bob’s Burgers.”
Most common customer complaint?
“No Budwieser? What, no Redbull? OK, I’ll have a Fireball. What, you don’t have that, either?” But hey don’t worry Christian’s Tailgate is right around the corner, and you can come have a cocktail here when you grow up.
Song you’ve gotten sick of at work?
The music is very diverse and well-curated. I haven’t gotten sick of the owner’s iPod on shuffle yet.
What’s the sloppiest, drunkest thing you’ve ever seen on the job?
Well, there was the girl who kept standing on the table to sing opera to a mostly empty and uninterested bar. Then there was the girl who threw up on her date while they where kissing.
What’s the most outrageous request you’ve ever gotten?
An Old Fashioned filled to the brim with simple syrup. And an 18-year-old Scotch with Coke.
Where do you like to go have a drink when you’re not at work?
I mean, honestly, my porch out back at home. But some of my favorite bars are Lei Low, Watch Co., Re:Hab and Moon Tower Inn.
What’s your specialty drink, and how do you make it?
Bourbon, neat, all day. The specialty is putting together flights from our massive selection tailored to your palate. I’m also a big fan of daiquiris and palomas.
What’s something your customers may not know about you?
