Albert Curtis Wedgeworth passed away peacefully on April 10, 2018, in Sosa, Mississipp­i. Curtis was born on September 28, 1932, to parents Albert “Boley” and Thelma Pilgrim Wedgeworth.

Curtis is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Delphia, his parents, brother James Wedgeworth and brother in law Marvin Reid.

Curtis had a great love for his family, fishing and baseball. He served in the Army for 2 years as an MP and was an Army Reservist for 6 years. Curtis was a plumber by trade and the proud owner of Wedgeworth Plumbing for 20 years before retiring to Zavalla, Texas and then moving back home to Sosa, MS. in 2011. Curtis was an active member of Gitano United Methodist Church in Sosa, MS..

Curtis is survived by his son; Curtis Wedgeworth (Robin) of Warda, TX, daughter, Wanda Gaddis (Scott) of Wharton, TX, sisters, Velma Reid, Gennia Hilbun (Pigeon), Jean Wedgeworth and special friend June Holifield all of Sosa, MS.. Grandchild­ren, Eddie Caballero (Jessica), Travis Gaddis (Lisa), Leslie Svrcek, and Miranda Blackmon. Curtis also leaves 8 great-grandchild­ren along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish his memory.

Pallbearer­s for the service will include: Scott Gaddis, Eddie Caballero, Travis Gaddis, Mark Syzdek, Albert Syzdek, and Wesley Langston. Honorary pallbearer­s: Cameron Caballero and Tyler Gaddis.

Services for Curtis Wedgeworth will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, with a visitation from 10:0011:00 am with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with interment to follow.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the cancer society, Gitano Methodist Church in Sosa, or to your favorite charity.
