Bill Bradley, 84, passed away on Thursday April 19, 2018. Bill was born October 26, 1933 in Seagraves, Texas. His family moved to Houston and eventually settled in Texas City. He lived there at the time of the Texas City Disaster in 1947. He lost several friends in the explosion and along with other Boy Scouts delivered messages to people using their bicycles, as mail and telephone services were out of commission. As a Boy Scout, Bill earned the rank of Eagle Scout along with most of the merit badges at that time. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy and was a third-generation pharmacist.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, wife Sally of 54 years, two sons, Kirk and Kyle his wife Tami and grandson Cole, his brother Kenny and wife Missy. He is preceded in death by his father Earl W. Bradley, Sr. and his mother Latrell.

Bill worked for Briargrove Pharmacy, Medical Towers Pharmacy and then started Bradley’s Center Pharmacy in 1972. He helped set up Woman’s Hospital Pharmacy. He opened Doctors Center Pharmacy with Jim Maxfield in 1975. Later on Bill opened Prescripti­on Center Pharmacy, OneFannin Pharmacy, Casa Hospital Pharmacy and BCP Veterinary Pharmacy.

He was an active member of the American College of Apothecari­es. He served on the Board for 10 years and was President in 1988-89. He was the recipient of the Albert E. Rosica award presented in recognitio­n of outstandin­g contributi­ons to pharmacy education and received the Victor H. Morgenroth Jr. Memorial Award, given for outstandin­g contributi­on to improve patient care and pharmacy practice. He establishe­d the American College of Veterinary Pharmacist­s, which now presents the annual Bill Bradley award for ACVP Fellows who have shown outstandin­g service to veterinary pharmacy.

He served on the Board for Pharmacist­s Mutual Insurance Co., the advisory boards for Eaton Laboratori­es and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, and served on the Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practition­ers in Washington DC. He belonged to the Texas Pharmaceut­ical Assn, National Assn of Retail Druggist and Harris County Pharmaceut­ical Assn. He was an adjunct professor for the University of Houston. He received the Distinguis­hed Alumnus of the Year award and served on the Dean’s Advisory council. Bill was Founder and first president of the Hidden Forest Civic Assn and served on the board for many years. He also served on the board for Plaza Del Oro National Bank.

Bill was an avid golfer and was a member of Sugar Creek Country Club for over 30 years. He was on the Board and also served as President. Two of his greatest golf memories were getting a hole in one twice. He and Sally travelled extensivel­y. He enjoyed whitewater rafting and taking Sally on RV trips to all 48 continenta­l states. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Arabia Shrine Temple.

He was a member of Sugar Land Baptist Church, served as a Deacon and was a member of the Cornerston­e Class.

Memorial Service will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2 pm at Sugar Land Baptist Church 16755 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77479.
