Allison Iraheta and Matthew Hager are partners both on and offstage. And judging by these answers, these Halo Circus musicians still like to have fun.

Q: Who’s the messier person on the road? Hager:

Probably Allison. But truthfully, she’s kind of become the adult on tour.

Iraheta:

It’s Matthew! I clean up after him all the time, and he has no idea. The end. Oh my God. I knew he was gonna say me.

Q: What are three must-haves while on tour? Iraheta:

I have a heating blanket. I’m so happy about it.

Hager:

That’s what success looks like.

Iraheta:

My laptop. That’s where we watch stupid TV after every show. And the Pizza Pizzazz. We’ve been cooking pizza in hotel rooms. It’s this little oven that has a laser on top or something. They’re the most delicious, crunchy, thoroughly cooked pizzas in 12 minutes.

Hager:

I think one of my thing’s illegal in Texas, so I’m not gonna mention that. Coffee, water and the Priceline app. That’s been life-changing.

Q: What was the last movie you watched together? Iraheta:

Oh, we just went to the movie theater in Huma, Louisiana.

Hager:

The Amy Schumer movie, “I Feel Pretty.” It took a lot of courage. I like to see people processing things, and I think that’s what she’s gotten really good at. She processes stuff that other people don’t wanna talk about.

Q: What’s a musical memory that still makes you proud today? Hager:

I hired the whole band and hired myself as a bassist for Mandy Moore. I didn’t have any experience. It was actually very stupid. The first time I ever played bass in public was “I Wanna be with You” on “The Tonight Show” live with Mandy Moore. It was not an easy song, and it was terrifying. I think about that a lot.

Iraheta:

What is coming to my brain right now is this Jeff Buckley tribute concert I did a few years ago. We did “Dream Brother.” That moment — remembering how calming and reflective and scary it was to do a Jeff Buckley song like that. I think it was my first time singing in a very different part of my voice. I think that opened the doors to me trying some new things as a vocalist.
