Doris Lucille Gossett, loving Mother and Grandmothe­r, has gone to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Lucille was born to Isom and Opal Chisum on August 25, 1926 in Mexia, Texas. She is survived by her Son, Patrick Taylor Gossett; Grandson, Rapeepong Tyler Gossett; Daughter-in-Law, Anyanist Gossett and many friends.

Lucille was a graduate of Norris City High School. She married Jack Gossett during WW II when he was a Navy pilot. After the war, she was a homemaker living around the country, Puerto Rico and Belgium. She settled in the Spring Branch area of Houston over 50 years ago and was a member of First Baptist Church Spring Branch.

Lucille worked at the Spring Branch Tax Office, Spring Branch Credit Union, Valley Machine Shop and a law office, retiring in 1994.

Lucille was devoted to her family, was charitable, a good friend and always one to help others.

A special thank you to the staff of Brookdale Spring Shadows, who cared for Lucille during her stay there.

Family and friends will share memories during a memorial gathering from 2 to 4pm Saturday, July 14, at Waltrip Funeral Directors.
