Elaine Elizabeth Magee Best Waters, 69, of Montgomery, Texas, went to be with her Lord on July 9, 2018. She was born in Houston, Texas, on December 18, 1948.

Elaine graduated from high school in Houston and attended the University of Houston.

Elaine had an outstandin­g career in the personnel industry. Continuall­y improving her profession­al expertise, she worked for a number of companies, starting with M. David Lowe and ultimately founding Elaine Best & Associates, which she ran for over 30 years. Her career was highlighte­d by receiving numerous awards and recognitio­n by the Houston Area Associatio­n of Personnel Consultant­s. She also received several awards from various women business owners. Elaine retired in 2009.

Elaine had a passion for family, 3-card poker, Texas A & M football, and all of Houston’s profession­al teams.

Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Best, and parents, Alton Oliver Magee Sr. and Verna Elizabeth Krolczyk. She is survived by Steve Waters, her husband of 27 years, though she liked to include the 5 years of courtship for a total of over 32 years together; and siblings, Alton Oliver Magee Jr. and wife Patricia, Earl Lynn Magee and wife Lorrie, Judy Ann Mueller and husband Steve; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Fireside area of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South in The Woodlands. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive in The Woodlands. Following a reception at the Church, a Rite of Committal will take place at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road in Humble.
