Gonzalez resting injury one more day
One day after he was spiked in his left hand and exited the Astros’ 6-5 win in the first inning, Marwin Gonzalez was out of the lineup Wednesday but “fine” for the foreseeable future.
The team’s fill-in shortstop since Carlos Correa went on the disabled list, Gonzalez left the game with what the Astros called a “left wrist and elbow contusion.” After the game, Gonzalez said X-rays on his arm were negative.
In Gonzalez’s absence, the Astros configured their infield just as they did when he exited Tuesday.
Alex Bregman played shortstop, Yuli Gurriel played third base and Tyler White played first.
