Indians put end to Pirates’ streak

CLEVELAND — Trevor Bauer struck out 10 over seven innings, Brad Hand got his first save for Cleveland, and the Indians stopped the Pittsburgh Pirates' winning streak at 11 with a 4-0 win.

Pittsburgh was seeking its first 12-game winning streak since 1965 but only advanced one runner past second base as Bauer, Adam Cimber and Hand combined for a three-hitter.

Pittsburgh, which won the first two games by a combined 16-4, lost for the first time since July 10 against Washington. It has scored six or more runs in seven straight games for the first time since 1946.

RAYS 3, YANKEES 2: Sergio Romo pitched in relief in the eighth inning, shifted to third base when Jonny Venters replaced him in the ninth, then struck out Brett Gardner to end the game with two on to give Tampa Bay a win over visiting New York.

ATHLETICS 6, RANGERS 5: Khris Davis homered twice, including a towering two-run homer in the ninth inning as Oakland rallied to the beat host Texas.

ANGELS 11, WHITE SOX 3: Albert Pujols hit his 631st homer, passing Ken Griffey Jr. for sixth all-time as host Los Angeles beat Chicago. TWINS 12, BLUE JAYS 6 (11): Max Kepler drove in the tiebreakin­g run when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in a five-run 11th inning as visiting Minnesota beat Toronto.

MARINERS 3, GIANTS 2: Jean Segura drove in Guillermo Heredia for the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, and host Seattle beat San Francisco.

CUBS 2, DIAMONDBAC­KS 1: Jon Lester pitched six strong innings, and Chicago scored the go-ahead run in the eighth for the win over visiting Arizona.

NATIONALS 7, BREWERS 3: Bryce Harper tied for the NL lead with his 25th homer as visiting Washington beat Milwaukee. PHILLIES 7, DODGERS 3: Carlos Santana hit a threerun triple, leading host Philadelph­ia over Los Angeles. TIGERS 8, ROYALS 4: Mike Moustakas had two hits, including a run-scoring double, as Kansas City topped visiting Detroit.

METS 6, PADRES 4: Rookie Corey Oswalt earned his first win in the majors, pitching three-hit ball over five innings as host New York beat San Diego.

REDS 7, CARDINALS 3: Eugenio Suarez homered for the third straight game, and Cincinnati powered to a win over visiting St. Louis.
