Shark bites man near Crystal Beach
A 42-year old man was bitten by a shark near Crystal Beach on Thursday, authorities said.
The man was swimming off the sandbar near Stingray Road at Crystal Beach when he was bitten by a shark above the knee, according to Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset.
“He was awake, talking in the truck,” Trochesset said.
The injury is not life-threatening.
A spokesman for UTMB confirmed the hospital admitted a possible shark bite victim.
