Political gain

Regarding “Insider trading case casts shadow” (Page A1, Thursday), insider trading by politicians, this isn’t really news, is it? Politicians derive their power from money and the knowledge of what will happen legislatively. Their salaries are decent, yet most amass serious wealth as politicians while some live both in D.C. and elsewhere. Most of us struggle to live in one place.

If a reporter examined the before and after net worth of all our congressmen and senators, I believe there would be lots of questions and squirming on both sides of the aisle.
