MARY E. READ IDEN

1919-2018

Mary E. Read Iden departed this life peacefully in her home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at the age of 99. She was born in Mart, Texas on March 18, 1919.

Mary joins her loving husband of 60 years, John C. Iden, Jr. (J.C.). She is survived by her brother, Richard Read (Blair); daughters, Janet Iden and Kay Rowe (Mark); grandchildren, Jeff Brooks (Mavinee), Brooks Eastwood (Jerry) and Jessica Keller (Josh); great-grandchildren, J.C. Brooks, Anissa Brooks and Gemma Keller; many nieces and nephews.

Mary was a loyal and active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in the Woodland Heights for 70 plus years.

The family would like to thank her amazing, loyal and loving neighbors, Jack Gross and Ray Saillant for their constant help to both Mary and J.C. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Pearl, Terri, Jennifer and Carrie.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Heights Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held the following morning at 11:30 AM in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church.
