Norma Jean Blackwell, a native Houstonian, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the age of 89. Norma was born October 27, 1928 to John and Delia Prescott. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert H. Blackwell.

Norma often spoke of being reunited with him in heaven. As a loving mother of three boys, she always made sure they did not miss ball games and practice. Her many talents included gardening, sewing, and crocheting. As a talented musician she played the piano and organ at Easthaven Baptist Church where she was a member for over fifty years. She and her husband, Bob, loved to travel in their RV all over the America and even Alaska.

Norma is survived by her sons, John A. Blackwell of Houston, Robert E. (Bob) Blackwell and wife Mary of League City, William G. (Bill) Blackwell and wife Susan of Granbury, TX; 5 grandchild­ren, and numerous greatgrand­children and one great great-granddaugh­ter including nieces and nephews.

Her family expresses much appreciati­on to Visiting Angels (League City) and Grace Hospice of Texas for their wonderful care during Norma’s final days.

The family will receive friends for a celebratio­n of Norma’s life from 5:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, August 19 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Angels, followed by a graveside service in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you please contribute to your favorite charity.
