LUIS VILLARREAL, SR.

-

1936-2018

Luis Villarreal, Sr. entered eternal peace and the arms of his beautiful wife Guadalupe Villarreal on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at 81 yrs. old. While the world is left with one less noble hard working soul, those who survive him will carry on his memory.

Luis, is survived by his son Luis, Jr. and three sons, Mark, Rick and Michael and daughter Bianca, along with 5 grandchildren. His Daughter Elvia, her children Clarissa, Julian, and Laura and 10 grandchildren. Also, Irene and her son Cristian. May his memory and blood line live long and as strong as his mighty hands.

Of humble beginnings, born to migrant farmers in Harlingen, TX in 1936, the family journeyed from the Rio Grande Valley to Chicago and back. Along the way, he found love in the arms of Guadalupe and set about to make his way by sheer force of will, sweat and his very capable two hands, becoming a skilled Diesel Mechanic. He would toil his days and work in tandem with his loving wife to provide a stable homestead for his children. Luis is a testament to hard work paying off.

He purchased a small piece of land on the Northside of Houston that would serve as the hub of the Villarreal’s from 1971 to the present. Luis would retire as a Diesel Mechanic and go on to independently own and operate his own Diesel Truck. It may never be said that Luis was not a capable, honorable, hardworking man, who stood tall and stepped over any obstacles that stood in his path. He is a source of pride and inspiration to his children, grandchildren and the many generations to come.

He stood his ground against all odds in his last years, until finally heeding the call of his precious wife from afar. Ultimately, he is remembered as a joy filled friend, loyal husband, and proud grandparent. Therefore, we choose to celebrate the life of a modest, hardworking, loving father in a most deserving manner.

To pay tribute to the perpetual labor, joy, and humble spirit of Luis Villarreal, Sr., we will hold a 9am Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, on September 1, 2018. Then, the family will set sail to honor his last wishes by casting his ashes out to sea in a Celebration of Life Ceremony.
