Brewers’ Yelich gets cycle, 6 hits

CINCINNATI — Milwaukee’s Christian Yelich went 6-for-6, tying the club single-game record for hits, and also hit for the cycle in powering the Brewers to a 13-12 victory over Cincinnati on Wednesday night

Milwaukee’s Jesus Aguilar connected off Raisel Iglesias (2-3) in the 10th inning to break a tie. Yelich is the eighth Brewer to hit for the cycle and the first since George Kottaras on Sept. 3, 2011, at Houston.

RED SOX 14, MARLINS 6: Mookie Betts homered early and had a two-run double in host Boston’s 11-run seventh inning. Starter David Price exited the game in the fourth after being struck by a line drive.

CUBS, METS SPLIT: Todd Frazier hit a grand slam and drove in a season-high five runs to lead the Mets to a 10-3 victory in the second game, avenging a loss earlier in the day at Chicago. The Cubs won 2-1 earlier on Ben Zobrist’s RBI single in the 11th. That game was suspended Tuesday in the top of the 10th because of rain.

WHITE SOX 4, YANKEES 1: Ryan LaMarre homered and drove in a career-best four runs, and Reynaldo Lopez stifled the Yankees at New York.

PIRATES 2, CARDINALS 0: Trevor Williams combined with three relievers on a five-hitter as Pittsburgh won on the road. Williams (11-9) gave up three hits and struck out a career-high eight. He has allowed just four earned runs over his last eight starts.

DODGERS 3, RANGERS 1: Alex Wood pitched seven scoreless innings and Los Angeles hit three solo homers at Texas. DIAMONDBAC­KS 3, GIANTS 1: Zack Godley allowed one run in 72⁄3 innings and Steven Souza Jr. had a two-run home run as Arizona won at San Francisco. RAYS 8, BRAVES 5: C.J. Cron had four hits including a home run in Tampa Bay’s win at Atlanta. PHILLIES 8, NATIONALS 6: Carlos Santana had a grand slam to lead host Philadelph­ia. PADRES 8, MARINERS 3: Hunter Renfroe homered and drove in four runs, Manuel Margot had a homer among his three hits, and prized rookie Luis Urias had his first three hits for host San Diego. TWINS 4, INDIANS 3: Robbie Grossman singled home two runs in the seventh off closer Cody Allen to give Minnesota a road win. ROYALS 9, TIGERS 2: At Detroit, Adalberto Mondesi hit a two-run homer and finished with four RBIs. ORIOLES 10, BLUE JAYS 5: Adam Jones hit a grand slam and drove in five runs to lead Baltimore at home.
