Red Bulls keep Dynamo going in wrong direction

HARRISON, N.J. — The Dynamo moved a step closer to an ignominiou­s feat with a 1-0 loss Wednesday night to the New York Red Bulls.

Rookie Brian White scored his first MLS goal in his first start as the Red Bulls (17-6-4) extended the winless streak for the Dynamo (7-12-7) to nine games — one away from tying a club record.

New York moved one point ahead of longtime Supporters' Shield leader Atlanta United with seven games remaining.

Delle Donne has bruised knee

The Washington Mystics avoided what would have been devastatin­g circumstan­ces when tests taken on Elena Delle Donne’s left knee revealed a bone bruise but no ligament damage, leaving the AllStar forward questionab­le for Friday’s Game 3 of their WNBA semifinal series against Atlanta.

Delle Donne was injured Tuesday in a 78-75 loss. Irvine pitches Skeeters to win Lucas Irvine threw six scoreless innings as the Sugar Land Skeeters defeated Southern Maryland 4-3 at Constellat­ion Field. …
