Westfield man is charged in murder
A Westfield-area man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his childhood friend, authorities said.
Police were searching for Kysion David, 29, according to court documents filed with the Harris County District Clerk.
David is accused of shooting Anselmo Farrington, 29, several times Saturday morning at David’s apartment in the Inverness at Westador complex in the 17000 block of Red Oak Drive, records show.
A person who was staying at David’s apartment told Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators that he was using “tabs,” a slang term for the psychedelic drug LSD, and was easily agitated and erratic in the days leading up to the shooting, according to the criminal complaint filed against David.
The roommate, who had been staying with David for a few weeks, said he waved around a handgun early that morning. She said she walked out of the apartment to avoid confrontation, according to the complaint.
When Farrington, David’s childhood friend, came to visit, the roommate told deputies she watched through the open door as the two argued and David paced back and forth holding a gun, investigators said in the complaint. The roommate told deputies she heard multiple gunshots and saw Farrington fall to the ground; she then fled to avoid being shot, according to the complaint.
This month, authorities charged David with assaulting a former girlfriend at her apartment in June.
