Ancer takes lead into Dell finale

Mexico opened with three consecutive birdies on his way to a 6-under-par 65 to take a one-shot lead over a familiar figure going into the final round of the Dell Technologies Championship at Norton, Mass.
It wasn't Tiger Woods, but the guy playing with him — Bryson DeChambeau, who is coming off a four-shot win in the first FedEx Cup playoff event and shot 63 while playing with Woods for the first time in a tournament. DeChambeau and Tyrrell Hatton (69) were one shot behind.
In other news:
• Marina Alex rallied to win the Cambia Portland Classic for her first LPGA Tour title, closing with a 7-under 65 for a four-stroke victory over Georgia Hall (75). Alex birdied the final five holes in a front-nine 30 to take the lead and added birdies on the par-5 12th and par-4 15th at Columbia Edgewater. She made her only bogey of the day on the par-4 18th, leaving her at 19-under 269.
• Scott McCarron had a one-hop ace on the par-3 14th hole and closed with a birdie to successfully defend his Shaw Charity Classic title. McCarron shot a 7-under 63 for a one-stroke victory over Scott Parel 62), Joe Durant (67) and Kirk Triplett (65) at Canyon Meadows in Calgary, Alberta. McCarron finished at 15-under 195.
• Thorbjorn Olesen claimed the final automatic qualification spot on the European Ryder Cup team after Matthew Fitzpatrick failed to win the Made in Denmark. Fitzpatrick needed to overturn a six-shot deficit to leader Lee Westwood going into the final round, but it was Matt Wallace, another Englishman, who claimed victory with a 19-under total of 269. Wallace (67) survived a fourman playoff against Westwood (69), Steven Brown (68) and Jonathan Thomson (68) to win at European Ryder Cup captain Thomas Bjorn's home course at Aarhus.
