Fall calendar of events includes home shows and tours.

Fall always brings a strong lineup of home design events, from home shows and book signings to artisan markets and architectu­re tours. Here’s a lineup of several scheduled for the next couple of months.

Book signing: Houston interior designer Paloma Contreras will sign copies of her new book, “Dream Design Live” (Abrams; $35; 240 pp.), 6:30-8:30 Thursday at Found, 3433 W. Alabama. 16th annual Fall House

Beautiful Show: More than 200 vendors and a daily lineup of speakers on topics ranging from landscapin­g, window treatments, paint choices, organizing and remodeling on Saturday and Sunday at the Waterway Marriott in The Woodlands. I’ll be one of the speakers, tackling the subject of bathroom remodeling ideas at noon Saturday and saves and splurges in kitchen updates at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Market : Home remodeling and landscapin­g vendors, plus a vintage market and tiny-home village will highlight this semiannual show at the Merrell Center in Katy. Support a good cause shopping the Brookwood Community Fall Plant Sale. Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. 2018 Southern Living

Showcase Home: A Braes Heights bungalow damaged in Hurricane Harvey flooding has been replaced by a dazzling “modern farmhouse” that will be open to the public for Southern Living’s annual home tour. Built by Stone Acorn Builders, the new 6,076-square-foot custom home at 3758 Drummond was elevated to avoid future flooding. Interiors were decorated by two local firms, Lindsey Herod Interiors and Meg Lonergan Interiors. Proceeds benefit the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. Urban Chic: Houston artist Chris Silkwood has curated a one-day show, Urban Chic, at Clarke & Associated Art & Consulting in the Heights, 301 E. 11th. Scarves featuring the art of Silkwood as well as Amita Bhatt, Sharon Kopriva, Randall Mosman and Sherry Owens will be for sale. AIA Houston Home

Tour: One of Houston’s most interestin­g architectu­re tours, the annual AIA Houston Home Tour, will open seven architectd­esigned homes all over Houston. Featured architects are Cusimano Architect, Brett Zamore Design, Intexure Architects, Dillon Kyle Architects, studioMET, RD Architectu­re and JT ARC Studio. Hours: Noon-6 p.m. Oct. 20-21. Tickets are $25 by Oct. 17 or $35 the weekend of the tour. Children age 12 and younger are $15; singlehome tickets are $10. aiahouston.org Good Brick Tour: Preservati­on Houston’s annual home tour that showcases the local homes and buildings honored in their annual awards has moved to a fall schedule. Among the homes is the Ewart H. Lightfoot House, built in 1921 in the Audubon Place Historic District. Lightfoot was a local builder who included an intercom system and featured a fireplace made of Houston Ship Channel ballast stones. Coming Oct. 27-28. preservati­on houston.org
