ANGELUS “ANGIE” CALDWELL JONES GOODE

1952-2018

Angelus (Angie) Caldwell Jones Goode, R.N., J.D. was born Angelus Caldwell in Los Angeles, CA on July 8, 1952 to Dorothy and Robert Caldwell (deceased). She attended Hawaiian Ave Elementary, and later graduating Banning High School in 1970. She attended Cal State University in Los Angeles, CA and graduated with a BS in nursing in 1976. Angie received her license and began her professional career as a Registered Nurse. In 1977, she moved to Houston, Texas where she worked at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Being a nurse was not enough for Angie, her drive and ambition led her to law school. She enrolled in Thurgood Marshall School of Law, graduated and was licensed to practice on January 21, 1999. Angie managed a successful law practice and then returned to her first love of nursing. She retired from UT Harris County Psychiatric Center in December 2017.

Angie and her partner, MacArthur Jones, gave birth to her first son, Kimani Atiba Jones, of Los Angeles, CA on February 27, 1973. After moving to Texas, Angie married Rodney Jones, Sr. of Houston, Texas in 1980. To this union, Attorney Rodney Robert Jones of Houston, Texas was born on May 29, 1981. Angie later married Attorney Rolfe Goode on January 28, 2004. She loved her children and grandchildren and saw them as her greatest achievement.

Angie is survived by her husband Rolfe Goode; mother Dorothy Caldwell; sons Kimani and Rodney (Nativada) Jones; siblings Aundre (Wanda) Caldwell of Riverside, CA and Aletha (Alice) Caldwell of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren Jourdan, Emmanuele, Jasiri, Miracle, Richman. Including Zahra, Kareem and Kaylah Goode of Houston, Texas. She leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on (Friday) September 7, 2018 from 11-11:55 am., Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 noon, both services will be held at the Wheeler Ave Baptist Church, 3826 Wheeler Ave. Baptist Church, 3826 Wheeler Ave., Dr. Marcus Cosby Pastor.
