ANNA ELIZABETH HORN passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at the age of 82.

Anna was born 0n August 4, 1936 in Wilmington, Delaware to Elsie Margaret Leipold Horn and Alfred Earl Horn. Alfred was born in Germany and migrated to America where he met and married Elsie. Anna was the oldest of their three children.

Anna was an intellectu­al and a reader graduating from Goucher College in 1984 where she establishe­d a library fund. It was no surprise when Anna continued her education at the University of Michigan to receive her degree in Library Science and her Phi Beta Kappa key. Anna had a varied and very successful career as a librarian in many cities including Columbia, South Carolina, Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri and the Pratt library in Baltimore, Maryland. Her career also included serving the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Anna finished her career as the Head Librarian for the Main library in her adopted home of Houston, Texas where she lived for the last 22 years of her life.

Anna is survived by her Brother, Alfred Earl Horn, Jr. of Wilmington, Delaware, her Sister, Gertrude (Trudy) Harris of Westminste­r, Maryland, a nephew Anthony E. Ash, his wife, Cindy of Hanover, Maryland and their children and grandchild­ren.

The family would like to extend its sincere appreciati­on to the Staff of Silverado and the staff of Solana Vintage Park for the love and care shown Anna and deep appreciati­on and gratitude to the Staff and Residents of Allen House Apartments where Anna resided for many years.

A Memorial Service will be held at Solana Vintage Park, 19929 Chasewood Park Drive, Houston, Texas 77070 on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial Gifts may be made to the Houston Public Library or your favorite charity.
