Voit hits 2 HRs as Yankees romp

NEW YORK — Luke Voit hit two homers off David Price, and Miguel Andujar popped another as the New York Yankees stalled Boston’s division-clinching celebratio­n with a 10-1 rout Wednesday night.

Luis Severino (18-8) pitched seven innings of one-run ball.

The Red Sox lead the division by 9½ games and need one victory to lock up the division.

ATHLETICS 10, ANGELS 0: Stephen Piscotty homered and drove in five runs, and Brett Anderson and three relievers combined on a four-hit shutout at Oakland. Oakland moved within four games of first-place Houston in the AL West and stayed 2½ behind the Yankees for the top wild card. The A’s are 5½ games ahead of streaking Tampa Bay for the second wild card.

DODGERS 5, ROCKIES 2: Pinch hitter Yasiel Puig broke a tie with a three-run home run in the seventh to lift host Los Angeles.

INDIANS 4, WHITE SOX 1: Jason Kipnis’ walkoff grand slam with one out in the ninth lifted Cleveland to a come-from-behind win at home. Kipnis drove a 3-2 pitch from Ian Hamilton over the right-field wall for his 1,000th career hit and 17th home run of the season.

DIAMONDBAC­KS 9, CUBS 0: Christian Walker and Chris Owings homered off Cole Hamels, and Robbie Ray held Chicago to one hit over six innings in Arizona’s win at Phoenix.

RAYS 9, RANGERS 3: Tommy Pham homered twice, and Tampa Bay completed a three-game sweep at Texas. The Rays have won 14 of 17 games in September.

BREWERS 7, REDS 0: Gio Gonzalez pitched six smooth innings, and Jesus Aguilar hit a three-run homer in host Milwaukee’s victory. Aguilar drove in four as the Brewers boosted their lead for the top NL wild card.

BRAVES 7, CARDINALS 3: NL East-leading Atlanta snapped a four-game skid with victory over St. Louis in Atlanta as Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer.

PHILLIES 4, METS 0: Rhys Hoskins became the seventh-fastest player to hit 50 career home runs, and Philadelph­ia kept pace in the NL East with a win at home.

PIRATES 2, ROYALS 1: Chris Archer pitched seven strong innings, and host Pittsburgh completed a threegame sweep of Kansas City.

PADRES 8, GIANTS 4: Wil Myers and Freddy Galvis homered as San Diego won at home.

ORIOLES 2, BLUE JAYS 1: Rookie DJ Stewart hit his first major league home run, and host Baltimore avoided a three-game sweep.

TWINS 8, TIGERS 2: Stephen Gonsalves threw six scoreless innings as Minnesota completed a three-game sweep at Detroit.
