MARGARET ALICE WEDIN ROGERS

-

1938-2018

Margaret Alice Wedin Rogers passed away on September 24th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret was born on December 13th, 1938 to Richard Alan Wedin and Margaret Clarice Herrington. Margaret attended San Jacinto High School and soon met and married the love of her life Neal Anthony Rogers Sr.

Margaret and Neal married when Margaret was 16 and Neal was 20. They knew each other 3 weeks and knew that they had found their soulmates. They were married for 63 years. Their bond was so strong that it endured the death of their beloved first born, Samuel Richard Rogers. Margaret and Neal loved to disco dance and made many friends throughout their years. Margaret loved to play bridge but with only “good” players. She always had an opinion on any topic and let you know that opinion. Margaret was a doer, caretaker, and a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and her claim to fame, Grandmother! Once you met her, you never forgot her and she never forgot you. Margaret was always inquiring about her friends, their families, and her clients.

Margaret came to the aid of her sister in law, Ellen Rogers, and together they started Rogers Travel in 1973. Together they were instrumental in growing Rogers Travel into what it is today. She refused to retire and, until recently, she was in the office everyday without fail.

Margaret was pre-deceased by her parents, Richard and Clarice Wedin, and her son, Sammy Rogers.

Margaret is survived by her devoted husband, Neal A Rogers Sr., her son Neal Anthony Rogers Jr. of Charlottesville, VA. and his wife, Lesley, and her daughter, Michelle Rogers Rogers, of Houston, TX and her husband, Darrell. Margaret is also survived by her brother, Richard Alan Wedin, Jr. of Houston, TX, and her sister, Karen Wedin Langford of Garland TX and her Husband Tom

and her loving nieces and nephew. Margaret was blessed with four adoring grandchildren, Lindsey Mason Rogers and Neal Anthony Rogers III of Charllotesville VA, Margaret Amanda Rogers and Catherine Barrett Rogers of Houston, TX.

The Family would like to extend their thanks to Margaret’s caregivers at the Forum and Methodist Hospital.

A Memorial Service celebrating Margaret’s life will be held at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road on September 27th at 2pm in the old sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, those so desiring, may send contributions in Margaret’s name and in honor of her son, Samuel Richard Rogers. to the AIDS foundation Houston, 6260 West park Dr, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77057
