TV/radio: CBS Sports Network; 950 AM. Records: Houston 5-1, 2-0 American Athletic Conference; Navy 2-4, 1-2.

Houston update: A win would make the Cougars eligible for a bowl for the sixth consecutive season and 12th time in the last 14 years. … UH’s AAC-leading rushing defense (116 yards per game) will be tested by Navy’s triple option, which ranks third nationally (303.7 yards). …After early struggles, UH has applied more defensive pressure with 21 tackles for loss and 20 quarterback pressures in two conference games. During that span, UH has forced seven turnovers. …Quarterback D’Eriq King has accounted for 28 touchdowns (20 passing, eight rushing) this season. … The Cougars lead the all-time series 3-1, including a 24-14 victory last season in Houston.

Navy update: The Midshipmen have lost three in a row and are in jeopardy of not qualifying for a bowl for only the second time in 15 years. Because Navy plays a 13game schedule, it must reach seven wins — a challenge with a four-game stretch that includes Houston, Notre Dame, Cincinnati and Central Florida. Those teams are a combined 24-1. … Navy is 16-2 at home during the regular season in the last four years. … Because of injuries, Malcom Perry (632 rushing yards, six TDs) moved back to slotback and Garret Lewis made his second career start in last week’s 24-17 loss to Temple.
