Michele Biehl Thomas passed away on October 21st, 2018, after complicati­ons with ovarian cancer. She was 60 years old.

Michele loved music, fashion, interior design, art and pottery. She traveled extensivel­y, including all seven continents and fifty countries. The most important thing in Michele’s life was her family. Her husband, Lynn, and daughter, Kelly, were the loves of her life. She also loved being a stepmother to Lauren and spending time with and spoiling her three grandchild­ren: Bain, Charlie, and Allison. Michele was also a cat lover and her beloved cat CoCo was by her side to the very end.

Michele was born in Miami, Florida, on November 4th, 1957, and moved with her family to Atlanta, Georgia, when she was 13. She graduated from Wheeler High School in Marietta and Georgia State University in Atlanta with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

After marrying Lynn Sumner Thomas in 1982, they moved to Bakersfiel­d, California, and then Houston, Texas, where they lived for a total of thirty years. In 1988, she, Lynn and their daughter, Kelly, moved to Borneo and Jakarta, Indonesia where Lynn worked in the oil and gas industry.

When they returned to Houston in 1993, Michele was the CFO at a small psychiatri­c hospital and transition­ed into consulting in the healthcare industry. She and Lynn moved back to Atlanta in 2017 after Lynn’s retirement to be closer to their family, including their children and grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Isabel Catherine Miller Biehl; her father, Calvin Hunter Biehl; and her sister, Carla Biehl McCurry.

She is survived by her husband, Lynn Sumner Thomas; her daughter Dr. Kelly Erin Thomas and stepdaught­er Dr. Lauren Thomas Stewart (Donald); her sister, Terry Biehl Van Nortwick (Kenneth); her niece, Meredith Lindsay; nephews, Eric Lindsay and Brandon Thomas (Gerrie); brother-inlaw, Brad Thomas (Merrilee); grandchild­ren, Bain Stewart, Charles Stewart and Allison Stewart.

There will be a small gathering held for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance or American Cancer Society in her name.
