Thomas Malone Cassell, 74, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on October 12, 2018 in Keller, Texas.

Tom graduated from Texas Tech University. He was a financial advisor to dozens of municipal utility districts (MUDs) from the 1970’s until his retirement in December of 2000. He was a pioneer, one of the first to realize the feasibilit­y of financing the infrastruc­ture for suburban real estate with municipal bonds. He was a stalwart for transparen­cy and an advocate for full disclosure to potential bond holders. Tom’s profession­al legacy is his contributi­on to establishi­ng industry standards for MUD financing and providing relatively affordable housing in MUDS located in the unincorpor­ated areas surroundin­g Houston.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Albert Cassell of Lubbock, Texas and his brother, Gary Cassell of Marble Falls, Texas. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Robin Cassell; his brother, Emory Cassell of Columbia, SC; son, Cash Cassell; stepdaught­er, Melissa Pfitzer; grandchild­ren, Ty Davidson, John Pfitzer and Cora Cassell, and step-grandchild­ren Ben Pfitzer and Leah Pfitzer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 3pm at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Grace Chapel, Southlake, TX.
