Friendswood vs. Angleton

7 p.m. Friday, Wildcat Stadium Friendswood (6-3, 3-3) hasn’t missed the playoffs since 2007, even keeping its long streak of appearances going while playing in 6A the last four years. But that run of success is in real danger this week. The Mustangs must beat Angleton (8-1, 5-1) and have Hightower (3-6, 3-3) lose to Foster (5-4, 4-2) to get in the postseason. The Mustangs and Hightower currently are tied for fourth in District 10-5A-I, and Hightower beat Friendswood 14-9. Angleton already is in the playoffs, so Friendswood has more to play for in that regard, but the Wildcats can strengthen their position and maintain momentum with a win.
