All that is left to decide is who will seize the top playoff seed in Division I, where both teams are headed, and whether Lamar will share the 18-6A title or keep it all to itself. History suggests the Texans will be stingy. They’ve already clinched a share of their ninth consecutive district title, and they went undefeated en route to the previous eight. The Texans boast a 60-game district winning streak dating to the last three games of 2009, when Westside claimed the championship. The Lobos already are in the playoffs for the first time since 2010, when they finished 6-5 in coach Mike Jackson’s final season at the helm. They’re coming off a 69-24 win over Sam Houston.
