Ridge Point vs. Dulles

-

6:30 p.m. Thursday, Mercer Stadium Ridge Point (8-1, 6-0) and Dulles (8-1, 5-1) already have clinched playoff berths in District 20-6A, and their divisions are locked in, too, with Ridge Point going Division I and Dulles to Division II. But this Dulles-Ridge Point game still matters – more than any meeting they’ve had in the series’ short history. Ridge Point can clinch its fifth consecutive district championship outright with a win, and Dulles, after rallying for a big win over Elkins last week, can secure a share of the district title for the first time since 2006 – when it shared the crown four ways with Fort Bend Marshall, Hightower and Clements. Putting itself in this position is a big deal for Dulles’ program, but still it faces a tall task against Ridge Point, which is 3-0 in their series, including a 45-3 win last year.
