OUTDOORS REPORT

- Bink Grimes

Sabine Lake — Guide Randy Foreman reported great fishing for trout off the flats and around ICW in 2-4 feet of water. Red shad Down South Lures have been best on the incoming tide. Galveston — Freshwater has pushed most of the fish to the lower bay and jetty. Good catches have come on live shrimp. Bull redfish are good at the jetty. Matagorda — Guide Tommy Alexander reported

limits of trout to 7 pounds on soft plastics over shell. Guide Keith Phillips said redfish are good on mullet in West Bay.

Hunting — Guide Harlan Boettcher of Prairie Waterfowl reported quick limits near Lissie for puddle ducks. Lots of teal have been in the bag for most outfits, but the coming cold front should deposit more big ducks and light geese on the coast.
