Norma Jean Bacho, 85, of Sugar Land, TX died peacefully on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. She was born on June 13, 1933 to Ned and Mary Yontz of San Jose, IL.

She attended the University of Iowa where she met and married Andrew B. Bacho, Jr. on February 4, 1955. After several transfers, they settled in the Houston area and lived out their remaining years in Sugar Land.

Norma was active in many committees, clubs and organizati­ons, particular­ly the Women’s Houston Geological Auxiliary and Sugar Creek Country Club. Her volunteer work for Congressma­n Bill Archer led to a staff assistant position at his Houston Congressio­nal District office until retirement in 1993. Norma Jean had a sweet sense of humor, very charitable, bright, and compassion­ate person whose light will be dearly missed.

Norma Jean is survived by her children; daughter, Vanessa Timm; her son, Vincent Bacho; her grandchild­ren, Spencer Cook & Tracey Shiflet and her great grandchild­ren, Shane & Kylee Shiflet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew B. Bacho Jr.; her parents, her siblings, Ivan Yontz of Pekin IL, Cleo Yontz of Bloomingto­n, IL and Vera Mae Alexander of Delavan, IL.
