Texas update: Sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger (shoulder) fully participated in practice Wednesday. He increased his workload to 40 live throws and is expected to start Friday against Kansas. Ehlinger has completed 217-of-334 passes for 2,620 yards (10th in school history) and posted a 21-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio this season. He has also rushed for 375 yards and 10 scores. … After missing a combined 36 games along the offensive line in 2017, Texas’ starting offensive linemen have missed three combined games so far in 2018. This will mark the seventh straight game with the same five starters. … Friday’s game marks the Longhorns’ first Thanksgiving Week game played outside the state of Texas since 1934, when UT played at Arkansas the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Kansas update: Kansas leads the Big 12 and ranks third nationally with a plus-15 turnover margin. Eleven different Jayhawks have recorded a total of 14 interceptions, with three being returned for touchdowns. … Freshman running back Pooka Williams Jr. leads the Big 12 and ranks fifth in the FBS in all-purpose yards. Williams is averaging 154.5 all-purpose yards per game. … This will be coach David Beaty’s final game. Former LSU coach Les Miles and Kansas recently came to terms on a five-year contract. Kansas compiled a 6-41 record in Beaty’s four seasons.
