Floyd William Daigle, age 83, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on Wednesday November 21, 2018. Floyd was born in Evangeline, Louisiana on September 12, 1935 to Adros and Eula Daigle.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joann Daigle, his two beautiful children; Donna Fehl (Charlie) and Floyd Daigle, Jr., his sister; Wava Mae Pousson, three grandchild­ren; Kaley (K.C.), Tyler (Kaelynn), and Ryan and two greatgrand­children; Maddox and Sophie.

Floyd joined the Houston Police Department on October 1, 1956. During his career with the department he was assigned to the Central, Burglary and Theft, Major Offenders, and Records Divisions. On March 2, 1974, he was promoted to rank of Captain. As a Captain he was in command of the Jail, Northwest, and Vice Divisions. On October 9, 1976 he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief. As Deputy Chief Daigle, he was in command of the Criminal Investigat­ion Command, until his retirement on February 2, 1990. Floyd’s service to the community did not stop there as he went on the serve the community of Pasadena as Chief of Police from 1991 until his retirement in 1994.

Floyd had many pastimes and loved every single one of them! He loved that he was Cajun and could speak French, he loved sports, playing and watching them, if it has the word “ball” in the name Floyd was there. He was very competitiv­e and played softball, and volleyball for the Houston Police Olympics. He loved to play poker with his buddies and swap “war stories”. He was a member of the 100 Club and the Retired Officers Associatio­n. He took great pride in being a Jennings High School Bulldog. If asked what he truly loved though, it would be his family and the special trips they took every year to Garner State Park and spending time with his grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children whom he loved to the moon and back.

A visitation for Floyd will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Connect Community Church at 4405 Crenshaw Road, Pasadena, Texas with the burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A reception for all will be held back at the church after the interment.
