Dr. Emory Edwin Mazique, passed away on Thursday, the 29t of November. He was born the 13th October 1932, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

He graduated from J.C Corbin High School, Howard University, Meharry Medical College and served in the US Air Force as 1st Lieutenant. Organizati­ons he participat­ed in were the Houston Medical Forum, National Medical Associatio­n, Alpha Phi Alpha Frat and Chi Delta Mu Frat.

He practiced medicine in Houston for over 50 years, retiring in June 2016. Dr. Mazique felt a special bond with his patients listening and taking the time to explain to each patient, earning their gratitude and affection. He is preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Eloise, two sisters Dana and Charlotte.

He leaves behind his loving wife Nora, sisters Joyce and Jeanette, dearest cousin Dr. Edward Mazique, sons Arman, Mark, Marlon, Robert Fuentes(JB) and daughter Kicha, ten grandchild­ren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He has gained a host of friends over the years serving them with lots of laughter from his comical personalit­y.

The funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 6th of December, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediatel­y following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.

The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.
