Regarding “Whitley is resolute in voter purge fiasco” (Front page, Friday): As the Democratic precinct chair for Harris County Precinct 554 and an election judge I believe it causes great harm for there to be a perception that there are persons voting illegally as claimed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Secretary of State David Whitley.

This misinformation was spread by tweets and announcements by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and President Trump. Let’s ask the Texas State Bar’s immigration and nationality law section for help in debunking these allegation which serve the political aims of political powers. John B. Harrison, Houston
