Rockets (44-26) update: They have won 11 of their past 12 games, including five straight on the road, matching their longest road winning streak of the season. They have won nine of their past 12 games on the road. … The Rockets have the sixth-ranked defense in the NBA since the All-Star break, fourth best in their past eight games. … With 21 3-pointers on 42 percent shooting against the Timberwolv­es on Sunday, the Rockets have shot 40 percent or better from beyond the arc four times in their past nine games. They had not made 40 percent of their 3s in their previous 22 games. The Rockets are 32-4 in the past two seasons when making at least 40 percent of their 3s. … Chris Paul, who had 20 points against the Hawks last month, has averaged 24.5 points on 62.5 percent shooting in his past two games.
