Texans re-sign quarterback Joe Webb to one-year deal.

- From staff and wire reports

The Texans re-signed veteran quarterback Joe Webb to a one-year, $1 million contract, according to a person with knowledge of the deal but not authorized to speak publicly.

Webb, 32, was the third quarterback for the Texans last season as well as aa key contributor on special teams. He also lined up at wide receiver and caught two passes for 13 yards.

Behind starter Deshaun Watson, the Texans now have Webb under contract along with primary backup A.J. McCarron, who recently signed a one-year, $3 million deal. Brandon Weeden was the backup to Watson last season.

For his career, Webb has passed for 888 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. He has rushed for 326 yards and four scores with 10 catches for 74 yards and 401 return yards.

Ravens sign RG3 to two-year deal

Quarterback Robert Griffin III agreed to terms on a two-year contract to return to the Baltimore Ravens.

Griffin wrote on Twitter: “Happy and blessed to be back w/ a great organization and great teammates.”

Griffin, 29, who was the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year with Washington in 2012, returned to the NFL with Baltimore last season after a one-year hiatus. Serving as the backup to Joe Flacco and playing behind backup Lamar Jackson, Griffin was inactive for the first nine weeks and ended up seeing limited action in three games.

Like Jackson, Griffin is at his best when running out of the pocket. After Jackson took over as the starter in November, the Ravens began shaping their offense to accommodate a run-oriented attack guided by an agile quarterback.

Baltimore traded Flacco to Denver earlier this month.
