Pederson powers Dodgers’ victory

DENVER — Joc Pederson had three hits and three RBIs, Matt Beaty doubled twice and drove in two, and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied past the Colorado Rockies 10-5 to split their four-game series.

Kenta Maeda pitched into the fifth but didn’t figure in the decision. He had a hand in the Dodgers’ first two runs, though, singling and scoring in the third and laying down a sacrifice bunt that helped bring Kike Hernandez home in the fifth.

The Dodgers finished their seven-game trip at 3-4.

YANKEES 12, RED SOX 8: Gary Sanchez hit a go-ahead, two-run single in a nine-run seventh inning, and visiting New York overcome a four-run deficit to beat Boston for a two-game sweep of the groundbrea­king, high-scoring series in London.

DJ LeMahieu doubled off Marcus Walden (6-1) leading off the seventh and hit a two-run double against Josh Taylor later in the inning as the Yankees opened an 11-4 lead, sending 14 batters to the plate in their highest-scoring inning in four years.

RAYS 6, RANGERS 2: Blake Snell struck out 12 over six innings for just his second win in his last 10 starts as host Tampa Bay beat Texas.

Snell (5-7) gave up three hits during an 80-pitch outing. The reigning AL Cy Young Award winner had an 11.94 ERA (17 1/3 innings, 23 earned runs) in five previous starts this month.

BREWERS 2, PIRATES 1: Eric Thames homered leading off the eighth inning, and host Milwaukee beat Pittsburgh.

REDS 8, CUBS 6: Eugenio Suarez ended his slump with his team’s longest homer of the season, Anthony DeSclafani pitched six scoreless innings, and host Cincinnati held off Chicago.

WHITE SOX 4, TWINS 3: Lucas Giolito allowed one hit in five innings to earn his major league-leading 11th victory as host Chicago beat Minnesota.

CARDINALS 5, PADRES 3 (11): Matt Wieters hit a tworun homer with two outs in the 11th inning, and St. Louis overcame a 3-0 deficit to beat host San Diego.

METS 8, BRAVES 5: Jeff McNeil delivered a two-run single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th as part of a five-run inning that gave host New York the edge over Atlanta. ROYALS 7, BLUE JAYS 6: Jorge Soler homered and had two RBI and Brad Keller pitched five innings to win for the first time since May 22 as Kansas City beat host Toronto. PHILLIES 13, MARLINS 6: Bryce Harper homered and drove in four runs to help visiting Philadelph­ia end a streak of five consecutiv­e losses to last-place Miami. NATIONALS 2, TIGERS 1: Max Scherzer struck out 14 against his former team and Anthony Rendon homered for the second straight game as Washington topped host Detroit. GIANTS 10, DIAMONDBAC­KS 4: Kevin Pillar had four hits including a homer and drove in five runs, and host San Francisco beat Arizona. ATHLETICS 12, ANGELS 3: Matt Chapman hit a threerun homer, a triple and a three-run double on the day he was named to his first All-Star team, and visiting Oakland beat Los Angeles. INDIANS 2, ORIOLES 0: Shane Bieber allowed three hits and struck out 11 over eight dazzling innings, and Cleveland edged host Baltimore.
