Offensive lineman Mitch Petrus, a walk-on at Arkansas who went on to a three-year NFL career that included a Super Bowl championsh­ip with the New York Giants, died Thursday night. He was 32. Pulaski County coroner Gerone Hobbs said Petrus died of heat stroke at a North Little Rock hospital after working outside that day at his family’s shop near his hometown of Carlisle, which is about 35 miles east of Little Rock. Petrus was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round in 2010. … An offensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals who was released this week surrendere­d to police in North Carolina after a warrant was issued for his arrest on an assault charge. A news release from the Greensboro Police Department said Desmond Harrison turned himself in to authoritie­s. Police said the alleged assault was reported Tuesday but provided no additional details of the incident. Harrison, 25, was claimed last month by Arizona after he was cut by Cleveland. Undrafted in 2017 after playing at West Georgia, Harrison also attended Texas, where he was suspended from the team several times. … Officials raised the budget to $1.9 billion for the 65,000-seat Las Vegas Stadium being built for the NFL’s relocated Raiders and UNLV football. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the stadium authority board approved $40 million in constructi­on additions, which includes 20 more suites. The stadium is due to open in 2020 just off the Las Vegas Strip. Taxpayers are funding $750 million of the project.
